As a Lead Software Engineer, you will tackle complex, multi-service problems, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to drive resolutions. You'll write and enhance code, promote code reviews, and implement standard development practices to deliver high-quality software to production.
Define, design, and develop robust service-level solutions that meet business requirements. Participate actively in agile processes, contribute to team decisions, and drive prioritization with product partners. Identify opportunities to improve primary services and functions, and advocate for automation and simplification across software delivery.
Lead by example with hands-on engineering excellence, troubleshooting and refactoring code for superior quality. Ensure seamless integration across services to meet user expectations and foster a blameless postmortem culture to learn from incidents. Introduce new technologies and architectural approaches while guiding team members and building strong cross-organizational partnerships.
We seek an engineer proficient in writing secure code in at least three languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, SQL) and familiar with secure coding standards and vulnerability management.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud-first software development is preferred. You should understand and implement standard branching strategies like Gitflow, moving towards trunk-based development, and utilize code quality scanning tools. Skills in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) are essential for building efficient code and maintaining a healthy testing pyramid.
Familiarity with basic and advanced design patterns, along with understanding Application Programming Interface (API) standards for adoption and estimation, is crucial. Experience in agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), modern SDLC practices, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) is expected. You should be skilled in estimating non-functional requirements, orchestrating release workflows, and debugging complex issues. The ability to conduct product demos and collaborate with product owners for sign-offs is also required.
