We strive to build a sustainable economy where everyone can thrive by offering secure, simple, smart, and accessible digital payment solutions. Our innovative technology, strategic partnerships, and extensive networks enable us to deliver unique products and services that help people, businesses, and governments achieve their full potential.
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Software Engineer to join our innovative Crypto-Services Squad. This role is integral to providing secure and reliable switching solutions, a core component of Mastercard's products. If you are a collaborative individual, adept at communicating with stakeholders at all levels, and passionate about leveraging the latest technology to solve complex business challenges, we encourage you to apply and help us build our new agile team.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and adherence to development standards across application codebases. You will contribute to the design of automated infrastructure deployment, managing reviews and tests for seamless integration with other systems.
Your role will involve automating large-scale systems across multiple environments and locations, writing code for public cloud, private cloud, and bare metal deployments. You will automate common tasks and implement an IaaS model using tools like Chef or Ansible. Developing moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, and dashboards will be a key responsibility. Additionally, you will orchestrate the deployment and maintenance of complex applications, oversee performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture, and engage in significant code development, pull request reviews, and day-to-day support.
To excel in this role, extensive experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot is essential. You should be well-versed in event-driven systems such as Apache Kafka or NATS. Experience in financial system encryption, including PIN Blocks, CHIP, and CVC, along with strong expertise in Cryptography within the payment cycle, Session Key Derivation, and validation, is required.
Proficiency in Triple DES and Advanced Encryption Standard techniques, coupled with a solid understanding of Thales or equivalent Payment Validation HSM modules and their commands, is crucial. Prior engineering experience, ideally in high-volume, low-latency transaction processing systems (e.g., payment transaction switching, high-frequency trading, or global real-time event streaming), is highly valued. Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins and delivering scalable products through CI/CD on-prem or in public cloud infrastructure is also a must. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
