This role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting robust software services. Key responsibilities include building Java and Spring Boot microservices, creating REST APIs, and implementing Kafka-based event-driven integrations. You will apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and secure coding practices. The position also requires creating comprehensive tests, participating in peer reviews, and troubleshooting complex application, data, messaging, and performance issues. Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, enhancing observability, ensuring operational readiness, and driving automation are also crucial aspects of this role.
Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with product, architecture, testing, operations, and other engineering teams. This leadership position necessitates providing technical and product guidance, mentoring team members, and steering decisions across multiple workstreams.
We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer with hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot development. Essential qualifications include expertise in microservices, REST APIs, Kafka or similar messaging platforms, and event-driven architecture. A solid understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and cloud-native platforms is required. You should possess a strong grasp of designing secure, scalable, resilient, and observable software.
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is necessary. Experience in Agile delivery environments and across the software development lifecycle is expected. Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are vital for working effectively with globally distributed teams. Proficiency in using AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude CLI to enhance engineering efficiency is a mandatory requirement.
Familiarity with the payments or financial services domain is considered a valuable asset for this position.
