Payments Network Technology is seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and support robust, scalable, and highly available payment network solutions. This role leverages modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and event-driven architecture within a cloud-native engineering environment.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting software services. You will build Java and Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka-based integrations. A strong emphasis is placed on applying object-oriented design, SOLID principles, reusable patterns, and secure coding practices. You will also create and participate in various testing phases, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and observability.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, architecture, testing, and operations. You will provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and drive critical decisions across multiple workstreams. Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot and Claude CLI is also required to enhance development efficiency.
Ideal candidates possess hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot development, microservices, REST APIs, and Kafka or similar messaging platforms. A solid understanding of event-driven architecture, object-oriented design, and secure coding is essential. Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containers, and cloud-native platforms is required.
We seek individuals with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in Agile environments and across the software development lifecycle is crucial. Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills are necessary. Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools is a must, and knowledge of the payments or financial services domain is preferred.
