We achieve this by building and managing comprehensive services and tooling for cloud-agnostic infrastructure provisioning, standard CI/CD pipelines, developer environments, and application frameworks.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of skilled developers to architect and implement high-performance, high-volume solutions.
Key responsibilities include: - Designing and developing microservice capabilities using Java, Go, or Python. - Building secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions adhering to best practices. - Implementing automated testing, code quality checks, delivery pipelines, and monitoring. - Mentoring junior and senior engineers through technical guidance, documentation, and code reviews. - Partnering with Architects, Leads, Developers, and Product Owners to deliver timely business value. - Championing Mastercard's Engineering Principles, Builders' Enablement standards, and Corporate Security guidelines. - Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for initiatives aimed at creating an efficient and secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). - Contributing to a cross-functional, geographically distributed team to enhance the developer experience. - Ensuring developer experience remains central to all our initiatives. - Upholding adherence to Mastercard's Engineering Principles, Development Standards, and Security Guidelines. - Actively participating in the Software Engineering Guild to share knowledge and best practices.
We are seeking a proficient engineer with a strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), specifically with Java JDK 8 or higher. Proficiency in Go and/or Python is highly advantageous.
Essential technical skills include: - Familiarity with Tomcat, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate, and REST microservices architecture. - Experience with SQL, multi-threading, message queuing, and distributed systems. - Solid understanding of design patterns and enterprise integration patterns. - Proven experience with one or more cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), including a strong grasp of availability zones, regions, security, cloud APIs, and virtual networking. - Expertise in JUnit or similar automated unit testing frameworks. - Knowledge of monitoring solutions like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Prometheus. - Fluency in Git and Jenkins. - Ability to define and implement best practices for Continuous Delivery/Deployment pipelines. - Good working knowledge of container technologies. - Experience in regulated environments with secure software development practices (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR). - Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling. - Experience building upon and contributing to innersource projects (e.g., CI/CD, shared libraries). - Demonstrated experience automating processes to boost developer efficiency. - DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering experience for distributed systems is a significant plus.
We also require candidates to be self-motivated team players operating effectively in a high-performance environment. A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is expected.
