This role is with Ethoca Smart Subscriptions, a part of Mastercard’s Consumer Clarity suite. We enable issuers to offer customers seamless visibility and control over their subscription payments directly within banking applications. Our team develops scalable, API-driven platforms focused on identifying, enriching, and managing subscription payments. We aim to reduce disputes, enhance transparency, and significantly improve the customer experience. Engineers here work on high-impact, cloud-native solutions integrated with Mastercard’s global infrastructure, providing real-time insights and actions to millions of users.

As a Technical Lead, you will drive end-to-end product development, building robust full-stack solutions leveraging microservices, event-driven architectures, and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies. Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to quality, performance, and security benchmarks, while also mentoring and guiding engineering teams to adopt best practices and new technologies. You will collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, including Product, Business, and Architecture teams, and lead initiatives to enhance automation, engineering efficiency, and overall product quality. Driving Proofs of Concept (POCs) and making technology decisions aligned with business and platform needs will also be key aspects of this role.

We are seeking a seasoned hands-on technologist with 10-15 years of experience, demonstrating strong Object-Oriented Design principles and clean coding practices in Java. Essential expertise includes microservices, event-driven architecture, and scalable system design. Proven experience with Spring Boot, cloud platforms, and Agile (SAFe) delivery models is required. Candidates must have a track record of building real-time, high-scale applications and possess a strong problem-solving mindset, capable of designing innovative, scalable solutions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for global teams are crucial, as is the ability to mentor teams and drive technical excellence.
