As a Lead Software Engineer, you will architect and develop secure, reliable, and scalable solutions for customer-facing products. This role involves supporting development teams, promoting agile practices, and cultivating technical excellence and innovation. You will design and implement secure authentication products, including ID Check, Token Authentication Service, and Token Authentication Framework, driving adoption and revenue for Mastercard.

You will collaborate closely with product owners to define and deliver new services, actively participating in the team’s agile processes and prioritization efforts. Hands-on contributions include writing interfaces, tests, and architecture fitness functions. Key responsibilities also encompass driving architectural designs for services, improving customer experience across product suites, and mentoring engineers at all levels to elevate software engineering craftsmanship. You will also conduct technical interviews to maintain high hiring standards.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with a strong background in designing and developing full-stack solutions for large enterprise platforms. Essential hands-on experience includes coding microservices in Java, building UIs with frameworks like React or Angular, and working with RDBMS, Oracle, and event-driven architectures. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes for cloud deployments is highly preferred.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial. A solid understanding of application security principles, including encryption, PKI, JWTs, OAuth, and OIDC, is required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in designing solutions with a focus on non-functional requirements like performance, scalability, and availability. Strong communication skills are crucial for aligning internal and external stakeholders and articulating complex technical concepts to executive leadership.
