As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the design, development, and leadership of high-performance, scalable, and secure enterprise applications. Your role involves hands-on technical leadership, architectural ownership, and cross-team collaboration to deliver mission-critical systems. You will be responsible for tackling complex problems, driving architectural decisions, and mentoring engineering teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.
Key duties include: - Leading technical design and development of low-latency systems using C/C++ on Unix/Linux. - Owning end-to-end architecture for services, ensuring scalability and resilience. - Introducing and adopting modern design patterns, frameworks, and best practices. - Providing technical direction and guidance to engineering teams. - Overseeing design, development, testing, and deployment activities. - Writing efficient, maintainable, and secure C/C++ code. - Driving automation for build, testing, and deployment pipelines. - Troubleshooting complex production issues and ensuring system stability. - Architecting systems for high throughput, fault tolerance, and performance optimization. - Performing performance tuning, memory optimization, and multithreading enhancements. - Collaborating closely with product, QA, and operations teams. - Mentoring developers and promoting best practices such as code reviews and TDD.
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer with robust expertise in C/C++ and Unix/Linux systems. Essential skills include strong experience in Cryptography within the payment cycle, Session Key Derivation and validation, and advanced encryption techniques like Triple DES and AES. A deep understanding of Thales or equivalent Payment Validation HSM modules and their commands is crucial.
Proficiency in C and C++ programming, coupled with a thorough understanding of Unix/Linux systems, shell scripting, and system internals, is required. Experience with multithreading, memory management, performance tuning, socket programming, and IPC mechanisms is vital. Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and build/debugging tools (Make/CMake, gdb, gtest, profiling tools) is expected. Strong experience with Github and Github Copilot is also necessary.
Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is beneficial. Experience designing distributed systems or high-scale enterprise applications, along with exposure to security standards (OWASP, secure coding practices) and the financial domain, is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving abilities, an ownership mindset, and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are key.
