Our innovative digital payment solutions are designed to be secure, simple, smart, and accessible, combining technology, partnerships, and extensive networks to help individuals, businesses, and governments reach their full potential.
The Data Governance & Regulations (DGR) program is crucial for ensuring Mastercard's compliance with global privacy regulations. Our DGR Applications Development Team is a collection of highly skilled, self-organizing individuals who collaborate to transform product backlog items into potentially shippable increments within each sprint. This cross-functional team possesses all necessary skills, including development, testing, analysis, architecture, writing, design, and user expertise, ensuring no dictated leadership hierarchy.
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is for a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and scaling high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate closely with product, architecture, security, and platform teams to deliver resilient, secure, and performant systems that align with Mastercard's engineering standards and guild practices.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing software through expert programming, rigorous unit testing, seamless implementation, comprehensive documentation, and timely delivery of software solutions. You will actively research alternative technical solutions to adapt to evolving business needs.
Your responsibilities include programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of system application software, all while adhering to MasterCard's established standards, processes, and best practices. You will also develop high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions based on technical specifications and design artifacts, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
You will determine operational feasibility by analyzing, defining problems, and proposing solutions. This includes investigating problem areas, following the full software development lifecycle, and documenting solutions clearly through code comments, diagrams, and flowcharts. You'll prepare and install solutions by defining system specifications and standards, and improve operations by recommending policy and procedural changes.
Key duties also involve protecting operations through information confidentiality, providing insights by summarizing development and service issues, and accomplishing organizational goals. Advanced knowledge of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, along with demonstration of MC Core Competencies, is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent relationship, collaboration, and organizational abilities, are vital. You must be adept at quickly learning and implementing new technologies, frameworks, and tools, supporting multiple concurrent activities, and interfacing effectively with both internal and external resources in a diverse, geographically distributed project team.
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of successfully delivering software applications, both independently and as a team leader. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are a must, alongside a proactive, solution-seeking approach to problem-solving.
Candidates should possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective interaction with all levels of management, and the ability to build strong rapport and relationships. A solid understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is required, along with comprehensive technical knowledge, market understanding, and specialized expertise relevant to the team’s problem domain.
Essential technical skills include proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, No-SQL Databases, JSON, Cloud Technologies (PCF, Kubernetes), and Angular 4+. Experience working within an Agile environment is also a key requirement. A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, is expected.
