Drive the architecture for the Mastercard Merchant Acceptance Program, focusing on microservices-based solutions and cloud-native design principles. Design enterprise-grade APIs adhering to Mastercard's best practices and create detailed technical blueprints. Ensure high availability and system resiliency within your designs to maximize uptime and capacity. Collaborate closely with senior technical and product leaders, as well as development, operations, and product teams. Provide essential technical leadership and mentorship to development teams and service architects, acting as the primary architectural advocate for the program.

This role requires over 12 years of product engineering experience, with a strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, microservices architecture, and web applications. Demonstrated experience architecting solutions using containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies is essential. You should have a proven track record of architecting high transaction volume, financial systems that operate at a global scale with extreme uptime requirements. Experience with backend microservices using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, messaging systems, and persistence technologies like PostgreSQL or SQL Server is crucial. Familiarity with Azure and AWS, automated testing, and continuous delivery models is expected. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, along with a desire to mentor technology teams and work within an Agile environment, are highly valued.
