As a Lead Software Engineer, you will champion software development projects, deliver exceptional results, and research alternative technical solutions. You will ensure daily team activities meet service level agreements and lead major projects with significant business impact.
Key duties include developing innovative solutions, partnering with project managers, assisting in daily development efforts and programming, creating proof-of-concept applications, and collaborating with business and technical stakeholders. You will also evaluate third-party products, ensure adherence to quality control practices, create technology road-maps, and maintain established software development processes.
Effective communication with management, business owners, and stakeholders is crucial. You'll also be responsible for the corporate security of Mastercard assets and information.
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Leader with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Advanced knowledge of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, along with strong object-oriented programming, coding, and debugging skills, are essential.
Proficiency is required in technologies such as Configuration Management tools (e.g., Git, Subversion), ExtJS, Java, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, Oracle, and Web Services (SOAP, REST, XML, XSL). Experience with JUnit and mocking frameworks (e.g., JTest, Mockito) is a plus.
Further requirements include understanding software design principles, patterns, algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading concepts. Solid experience with relational databases, including writing efficient SQL queries and Stored Procedures, is necessary. The ideal candidate is high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently under pressure.
Strong communication, relationship, collaboration, and organizational skills are vital. The ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, support multiple concurrent activities, and work effectively within a diverse, geographically distributed project team in an Agile environment is expected. Experience in Agile methodologies is required, with SAFE Agile experience being a plus.
Additional experience includes IT development life cycle phases, building relationships with business clients, and working with geographically distributed teams. Knowledge of the Java stack (core and advanced) and understanding architecture and deployment topology are also important.
