As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide a team of skilled engineers in developing high-performance, high-volume Java applications. Collaborate closely with technical leads, architects, and product owners to shape features and user stories. Design and deliver secure, scalable software solutions that meet technical requirements and business objectives within scope and budget. Conduct research, evaluate, and propose technical solutions for current and future business needs. Ensure timely project delivery, proactively identify and resolve emerging issues. Maintain comprehensive documentation for software programs and adhere strictly to MasterCard's quality assurance and control processes.

Drive continuous improvement by contributing ideas to enhance standards and streamline process efficiency. Support the collection and reporting of project and software metrics. Develop and implement automated test scenarios for system-to-system interfaces and end-to-end software solutions, including API and UI tests. Ensure adherence to quality standards and assist team members in validating application functionality. Provide automation tests for CI/CD pipelines and quality gates. Lead complex automation efforts, including code refactoring, and offer technical training to team members.

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering. You should possess 10-13 years of extensive hands-on experience with scalable, multi-threaded software products built using core Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, Unix/Shell scripting, and deployed on Tomcat. Experience leading scrum teams, providing technical direction, and resolving development blockers is crucial.

Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with both SOAP and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with Cloud Native Development platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and AWS is required. Excellent hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is essential. You should also have practical experience with Test Automation Frameworks and tools including Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, and Postman. A solid understanding of Java/microservices design patterns is expected. The ability to create and own solution designs, explaining them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, is vital. Knowledge of common industry-standard programming best practices and the capacity to innovate and develop novel approaches to complex design challenges are highly valued. Experience working collaboratively in a dynamic environment, making independent decisions, and learning new technologies quickly is necessary. Proven experience in building scalable, maintainable applications and working within Agile methodologies with cross-functional teams, including contributing to retrospectives and elaboration sessions, is a must. Experience in developing world-class solutions on a global scale is also required.
