The B&MI C&D team provides essential data, AI, and platform foundations, enabling faster product development and distribution. We are looking for a technically adept Lead Software Engineer to spearhead the architecture, design, and development of our advanced scaled distribution engine, fostering a strong leadership culture within the APT Platform.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the technical design and delivery of complex, data-intensive software solutions, driving the modernization of our platform. You'll define and implement technical strategies, architecting scalable, cloud-native, API-driven systems. Responsibilities include leading system design across all levels, from platform architecture to detailed technical specifications, and acting as a hands-on contributor in coding, testing, and debugging.
You will build and refine scalable services, APIs, and data pipelines using modern practices and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Databricks. Collaboration is key; you'll partner with product managers, architects, and various engineering teams to translate requirements into robust solutions. Additionally, you'll coordinate global engineering teams, conduct architecture and code reviews, and champion engineering excellence through best practices and continuous improvement. Mentoring junior engineers and navigating complex initiatives with clarity will also be central to your role.
We are seeking a seasoned professional with over 10 years of software engineering experience, demonstrating expertise in delivering scalable, high-performance, and reliable software within agile environments. A strong track record in designing and building distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native applications is essential.
Proven experience with data-intensive applications and analytics platforms, particularly Databricks, is highly desirable. You should possess expertise in leading system architecture, high-level and detailed design, and end-to-end technical delivery. Experience driving technology modernization, cloud adoption, and legacy system transformation is also crucial. Hands-on proficiency with AWS/Azure, CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, and observability practices is required.
Demonstrated technical leadership, the ability to influence architectural decisions, and a passion for mentoring engineers are vital. Excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions are expected. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is required; an advanced degree is a plus. Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance development productivity and code quality, while maintaining security and responsible AI practices, is also a key requirement.
