This Lead Software Engineer role is pivotal in a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge payment, digital commerce, and platform solutions. You will provide technical leadership in architecture, software engineering, AI-driven development, and cloud-native modernization. Your responsibilities will include leading large-scale engineering programs, designing scalable and secure solutions, championing AI-assisted engineering, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver exceptional products.

Lead impactful, complex software engineering initiatives. Define and implement technology strategies, architecture roadmaps, and modernization programs. Design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance cloud-native applications and APIs. Drive the decomposition of monolithic platforms into microservices and domain-driven architectures. Collaborate with Product Managers, TPMs, Architects, and Engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities to enhance business outcomes and engineering efficiency. Develop Proofs of Concept (POCs) and validate new architectural approaches. Foster engineering excellence through code reviews, design reviews, automated testing, and continuous improvement. Champion the adoption of AI-powered development tools to boost developer productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and operational excellence. Mentor engineers, cultivate technical growth, and promote a culture of innovation and learning. Communicate architectural decisions, risks, trade-offs, and strategies clearly to leadership and stakeholders. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, quality, reliability, and software development standards.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience is required. You should possess extensive experience in designing, developing, and leading enterprise-scale software platforms. Essential technical expertise includes Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems. Experience building secure, resilient, high-availability applications in cloud environments is crucial, alongside a proven ability to architect and deliver mission-critical systems at scale. Familiarity with integrating external APIs, payment platforms, SaaS products, and third-party services is expected. A strong understanding of software architecture patterns, domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, and API-first development is necessary. Hands-on experience with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native engineering practices is vital. Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants, intelligent code generation, automated testing, and developer productivity platforms is highly desired. Demonstrated ability to learn, evaluate, and adopt emerging technologies, frameworks, and AI innovations is key. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills are essential.
