The Mastercard Payment Networks team is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer to drive our customer experience strategy. This role is ideal for a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytical individual with a passion for customer journeys and an entrepreneurial spirit.
As a Service Architect, you will be instrumental in delivering end-to-end product development for Switching Solutions.
Your responsibilities will include full-stack development utilizing microservices, messaging/event-driven frameworks, and CICD within a cloud-native environment (Pivotal Cloud Foundry).
You will be responsible for ensuring all quality, performance, and information security benchmarks are met, alongside other Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
This role involves guiding and mentoring development teams, training them on necessary technologies, and communicating effectively with global Mastercard groups, including Business Owners, Product Owners, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
You will lead initiatives focused on improving automation, defect metrics, and overall quality, while also conducting Proofs-of-Concept based on technological and business needs.
Furthermore, you will take ownership of selecting appropriate tools, technologies, and patterns for service implementation.
We are looking for a strong, hands-on technologist with exceptional Object-Oriented Design skills and clean programming practices in Java, adhering to SOLID design principles for creating scalable and reusable components.
A passion for emerging technologies, particularly Event-Driven Architecture and modern caching/persistence mechanisms, is essential.
Extensive experience in product development using Digital Native Architecture, the Spring Boot framework, and Cloud technology (preferably Pivotal Cloud Foundry) within an Agile (SAFe) development environment is required.
You should possess the ability to analyze, conceptualize, and develop cutting-edge technical solutions aligned with business needs, with a proven track record in developing online, real-time application features.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are crucial, enabling effective coordination with Business Owners, Architecture teams, Development/Test teams, and Vendors. The capacity to guide teams on technology is also key.
Excellent coordination and organization skills are necessary to manage multiple stakeholders and vendors across different locations for project success.
A robust understanding and practical experience within an Agile (SaFe) environment are also fundamental.
