The Data Governance & Regulations (DGR) program is crucial for ensuring Mastercard's compliance with global privacy regulations. Our DGR Applications Development Team comprises self-organizing, cross-functional individuals with all necessary skills to transform backlog items into potentially shippable increments within sprints. As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting, developing, and scaling high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate closely with product, architecture, security, and platform teams to deliver resilient, secure, and high-performance systems that adhere to Mastercard's engineering standards and guild practices.
Key responsibilities include: - Developing and enhancing software through programming, unit testing, implementation, documentation, and delivery. - Researching alternative technical solutions to meet evolving business needs. - Ensuring programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of systems applications in line with MasterCard standards. - Building secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions based on technical specifications and design artifacts within budget and timeline constraints. - Evaluating feasibility by analyzing problems, defining requirements, and developing solutions. - Investigating problem areas and following the established software development lifecycle. - Documenting and demonstrating solutions clearly through code, diagrams, and flowcharts. - Preparing and installing solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming guidelines. - Optimizing operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending policy/procedure changes. - Maintaining information confidentiality and safeguarding operations. - Providing insights by analyzing and summarizing development and service issues. - Contributing to the engineering and organizational mission by delivering related results as needed.
We are seeking an individual with advanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies, who can demonstrate MC Core Competencies. Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent relationship, collaboration, and organizational abilities are essential. The ability to rapidly learn and implement new technologies, frameworks, and tools is required, along with the capacity to manage multiple concurrent activities and interface effectively with internal and external resources within a globally distributed, matrix-based project team.

Technical proficiencies required include Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, No-SQL databases, JSON, Cloud Technologies (PCF, Kubernetes), Angular 4+, and experience working in an Agile environment.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required. All personnel working with Mastercard assets are responsible for information security, including adherence to security policies, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity, reporting security violations, and completing mandatory security training.
