As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in programming, testing, implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support of system applications, adhering strictly to MasterCard's standards and best practices. You will guide a team of skilled engineers in developing high-performance, high-volume Java applications.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with technical leads, architects, and product owners to define features, developing secure, scalable software solutions, and researching technical alternatives for current and future business needs. You will also ensure adherence to quality standards, contribute to process improvements, and support project metric reporting. Furthermore, you will design and develop test automation for API and UI tests, provide automation support for CI/CD pipelines, and conduct technical training for team members.
We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering. A strong foundation of 10-13 years of hands-on experience in developing scalable, multi-threaded software products is essential. Proficiency in core Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Hibernate/JPA, Maven/Gradle, PL/SQL, Unix/Shell scripting, and deployment on Tomcat is required.
Demonstrated experience leading scrum teams, providing technical direction, and resolving blockers is crucial. You should possess strong hands-on experience with both SOAP and RESTful APIs, along with knowledge of Cloud Native Development platforms like Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and AWS. Excellent practical knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, and hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like Selenium, Rest-assured, TestNG, and Postman are also expected. An understanding of Java/microservices design patterns, ability to create and explain solution designs, and experience with Agile Methodology are vital.
