This senior leadership role in Quality Engineering is crucial for defining the technical direction and strategy within the Identity domain. The position involves architecting scalable platforms that numerous teams will build upon, making impactful technology decisions that shape long-term strategy, and enhancing organizational efficiency through innovative tooling, robust standards, and streamlined process design. The individual will operate at the nexus of engineering, product management, and organizational leadership, ensuring the QA team delivers exceptional quality signals with minimal friction. This role demands technical authority in test architecture, effective collaboration with partner engineering teams, and a commitment to fostering a strong QA engineering culture.

Define the technical vision for Quality Engineering within the Identity domain. Architect robust platforms and foundational tools for multiple engineering teams. Make strategic technology decisions that influence multi-year roadmaps. Drive organizational effectiveness by designing and implementing tooling, standards, and processes. Act as the technical authority for test architecture and a key liaison with partner engineering teams. Champion and cultivate a high-performing QA engineering culture.

Key responsibilities include architecting multi-module shared libraries, defining Java coding standards with AI tooling, designing release engineering processes, making critical technology adoption decisions, architecting scalable API client patterns, defining exception hierarchies, and driving dependency management strategies. Additionally, you will architect shared npm packages, define TypeScript framework patterns, lead framework selection, design internal package publishing, and define module boundaries across repositories.

This role requires deep expertise in architecting complex systems, particularly within Quality Engineering. A strong command of languages and frameworks such as Java (architect level), TypeScript (architect level), and Shell Scripting is essential. Proficiency in test frameworks like Selenium WebDriver and Playwright, along with build tools such as Maven and npm, is expected. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins and GitHub Actions, is critical. Knowledge of reporting tools like Report Portal and observability platforms like Datadog is beneficial. Experience with AI tools for code analysis and workflow automation is highly valued. A proven ability to define and enforce coding standards, design multi-repository architectures, and strategize test execution across multiple products is a must. The ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor junior engineers is also a key requirement.
