Seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on the installation, configuration, and ongoing management of critical Linux environments and associated virtualization technologies. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our infrastructure.

This position requires a strong understanding of system lifecycles, including patching and upgrades, alongside hands-on experience with both VMware and Proxmox virtualization platforms. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining robust storage solutions and diagnosing complex hardware and network issues.

We are looking for an individual adept at performance monitoring and optimization, capable of identifying and resolving bottlenecks proactively. A keen eye for security management, including policy implementation and vulnerability remediation, is essential. The role also involves leveraging scripting and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.

- Install, configure, and manage Linux operating systems (SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux) and associated software. - Handle system lifecycle tasks like OS upgrades, patching, and package management. - Provide day-to-day operational support for VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter Server) and Proxmox environments. - Manage virtual machine and container lifecycles. - Support Storage File Shares (NFS/CIFS). - Utilize strong hardware knowledge in Server, Networking, Storage, BIOS & OOB arenas. - Monitor system health and performance using industry-standard tools. - Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks for high availability. - Implement and maintain security policies, access controls, and hardening standards. - Apply patches, updates, and conduct vulnerability remediations promptly. - Develop automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Perl. - Employ configuration management and automation tools like Ansible, Salt. - Offer advanced technical support for Linux-related issues in production environments.

Proven experience in installing, configuring, and managing various Linux distributions such as SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux.

Proficiency in virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter Server) and Proxmox environments.

Solid understanding of storage solutions, specifically Storage File Shares like NFS and CIFS.

Strong knowledge of server, networking, and storage hardware, including BIOS and Out-of-Band management.

Experience with system performance monitoring and optimization tools.

Demonstrated ability in implementing security policies, access controls, and hardening procedures.

Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl for task automation.

Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or Salt.

Ability to provide advanced technical support for Linux systems in production settings.
