This position focuses on designing, deploying, and managing robust Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS and Oracle OKE. You will be instrumental in architecting and operating the Istio service mesh across complex multi-cluster and multi-cloud setups, ensuring secure and reliable service-to-service communication. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing performance and implementing advanced traffic management strategies.

Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and resilient Kubernetes platforms on AWS EKS and Oracle OKE. Architect and manage the Istio service mesh for secure, reliable communication in multi-cloud environments. Implement advanced traffic management techniques such as canary deployments, blue/green releases, and circuit breaking. Optimize Kubernetes cluster performance through autoscaling, workload scheduling, and resource management. Enforce security through mTLS, zero-trust networking, and policy-based controls. Manage Istio ingress/egress gateways and Envoy proxy configurations. Build and operate observability platforms using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kiali. Automate infrastructure and mesh lifecycle management using Terraform, Helm, and GitOps. Define and drive Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to enhance reliability. Integrate Kubernetes and Istio with cloud networking components and CI/CD pipelines. Foster a platform engineering culture and mentor teams.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Kubernetes platform engineering and hands-on production experience with Istio and Envoy.

A solid understanding of AWS EKS and Oracle OKE, including their architecture, operation, and scaling, is essential. Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and Helm, alongside GitOps practices using ArgoCD or Flux, is required.

Candidates must possess a strong grasp of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, CNIs, load balancers, and network policies. Experience implementing security measures such as mTLS and zero-trust networking, along with familiarity in identity integrations (OIDC, OAuth2, SPIFFE/SPIRE), is expected.

Practical experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kiali, Jaeger/Zipkin, CloudWatch, or OCI Monitoring is necessary. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go for automation are highly valued.

This role also requires self-drive, the ability to handle ambiguity and escalations effectively, and clear stakeholder communication. Exposure to multi-cluster/multi-cloud environments and container security tools is a plus.
