As a Senior Data Engineer I, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Disney’s Ad Technology big data platforms. Key responsibilities include designing, optimizing, and maintaining Spark and Flink data pipelines within Databricks and Airflow environments. You will focus on performance tuning, proactive monitoring with tools like Datadog, and participating in incident response and root cause analysis. This role also involves mentoring junior engineers and contributing to best practices and documentation.

We are looking for candidates with at least 4 years of experience in data engineering or big data platform operations. Essential skills include hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Flink, or Airflow, strong SQL proficiency, and experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development. Familiarity with AWS services for pipeline management, observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus), and proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java are required. Experience with infrastructure-as-code and strong collaboration skills are also necessary. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, is required.
