This Lead Principal Software Developer role focuses on architecting and leading the development of highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems. You will drive innovation in data plane platforms, ensuring systems are fault-tolerant, upgradable, and resilient. Your expertise will be crucial in setting durability and availability standards, establishing KPIs, and developing robust replication strategies. Additionally, you will advise on complex production issues, lead incident response, and architect advanced security controls and enterprise-level automation.

This position involves mentoring teams, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and defining scalability requirements in collaboration with stakeholders. Lead the architecture and design of highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems. Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks for hyper-scale workloads. Collaborate with stakeholders to define system scalability requirements. Design elastic, high-impact systems and drive innovation in data plane platforms. Engineer and oversee fault-tolerant, in-service-upgradable designs. Optimize resilience mechanisms like load-shedding, throttling, and rate-limiting. Set SLO-aligned durability and availability standards across dependent services. Establish KPIs and advanced telemetry for system health monitoring. Develop robust replication and synchronization strategies. Advise on and lead the resolution of complex production issues. Set operational readiness and SOP standards. Direct incident response and root cause analysis (RCAs). Architect advanced security controls and drive remediation and compliance. Deliver enterprise-level automation (IaC) and change strategies.

Extensive experience in designing and architecting highly scalable, interdependent distributed systems. Proven ability to mentor engineering teams on complex system architecture and design. Demonstrated expertise in identifying and resolving performance and scalability bottlenecks. Strong understanding of fault-tolerant design principles and in-service upgradability. Proficiency in optimizing resilience mechanisms (load-shedding, throttling, rate-limiting). Experience in setting and adhering to SLOs for durability and availability. Skilled in establishing KPIs, advanced telemetry, and formal verification techniques. Experience with developing robust replication and synchronization strategies. Ability to advise on and lead the resolution of complex production issues. Experience in setting operational readiness and SOP standards.
