Artifactory plays a vital role in this ecosystem, managing enterprise artifacts across on-premises, Azure, and AWS. As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will spearhead the design, engineering, and operational excellence of the enterprise JFrog Artifactory platform, managing its lifecycle across on-premises, AWS, and Azure environments. This includes architectural decisions, reliability, security, automation, upgrades, and overall platform health.

Key responsibilities involve leading the design and delivery of JFrog Artifactory capabilities, driving consistent adoption of artifact lifecycle management and secure build practices. You will treat Artifactory as a product, focusing on developer experience, platform stability, security, scalability, and long-term sustainability. This includes designing and maintaining Artifactory integrations and automation frameworks to enhance consistency and reduce manual efforts.

You will own the operational health of the Artifactory platform, ensuring reliability, availability, performance, and robust monitoring and alerting. This extends to managing capacity, storage, backups, and disaster recovery readiness. You will actively participate in incident response and postmortems to drive continuous improvement and automate platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management. Collaboration with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams is essential for pragmatic design discussions and platform evolution.

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Platform Engineer with over 12 years of professional experience, including extensive hands-on ownership of JFrog Artifactory and enterprise DevOps/platform engineering. A proven track record in designing, building, operating, and upgrading enterprise Artifactory platforms across on-premises, AWS, and Azure is essential.

Strong fundamentals in DevOps and SRE practices are required, alongside deep understanding of Artifactory architecture, repository management, storage, high availability, security, integrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery. Expertise in artifact lifecycle management, repository management, promotion models, Artifactory permissions, access controls, and build governance is expected.

Experience operating and integrating Artifactory across hybrid environments (on-premises, AWS, Azure) is crucial. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, artifact and container-image management, and proficiency in modern programming or scripting languages like Java, Groovy, or Python for platform automation are necessary. Experience supporting highly available and resilient enterprise platforms across hybrid infrastructure, with a passion for simplifying systems and improving developer experience at scale, is highly valued.
