Job description

Mastercard is a global leader in payment technology, empowering economies and individuals across over 200 countries. We are committed to building a sustainable economy where everyone can thrive by offering secure, simple, smart, and accessible digital payment solutions. Our advanced technology, strategic partnerships, and extensive networks enable us to deliver unique products and services that unlock the full potential of people, businesses, and governments.

This role focuses on the MSBX (Mastercard Secure Build Experience) initiative, which is revolutionizing how over 11,000 software engineers at Mastercard develop, test, and deploy software. Our goal is to create a secure, resilient, and efficient software delivery ecosystem, allowing engineers to concentrate on delivering customer value rather than managing infrastructure complexities.

DevFlow, a key component of this mission, modernizes Mastercard’s CI/CD ecosystem by providing secure, scalable, and cloud-native engineering platforms. JFrog Artifactory is integral to this ecosystem, offering enterprise-grade artifact management solutions for on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments. DevFlow is designed for enterprise-scale operations, emphasizing reliability, security, and developer trust.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end strategy, design, delivery, and evolution of enterprise JFrog Artifactory capabilities across on-premises, AWS, and Azure, with secondary focus on SonarQube, Bitbucket, and broader CI/CD components.

Champion consistent adoption of artifact lifecycle management, repository strategies, artifact promotion, and secure build practices among all engineering teams. Treat Artifactory as a product, prioritizing developer experience, platform stability, security, scalability, and long-term sustainability.

Develop and maintain Artifactory automation, integrations, shared pipeline elements, and robust automation frameworks to minimize manual effort and enhance consistency. Enable scalable and repeatable CI/CD executions using Artifactory in both on-premises and cloud settings, including containerized and ephemeral build environments.

Assume full operational ownership of the Artifactory platform across on-premises, AWS, and Azure, encompassing reliability, availability, performance, monitoring, alerting, observability, capacity planning, storage management, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery readiness. Participate actively in incident response, root cause analysis, and blameless postmortems, integrating learnings into platform enhancements and automation.

Oversee platform upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and operational automation to uphold security, reliability, and supportability. Enhance monitoring and feedback mechanisms for early detection and swift resolution of platform issues with minimal disruption to engineering teams. Provide supplementary operational support and engineering contributions to SonarQube, Bitbucket, and related CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

Possess over 12 years of professional engineering experience with extensive hands-on expertise in JFrog Artifactory and enterprise DevOps/platform engineering environments. Demonstrate a proven track record in designing, building, operating, and upgrading enterprise Artifactory platforms across on-premises, AWS, and Azure. Maintain a deep understanding of Artifactory architecture, repository management, storage solutions, high availability, security protocols, integrations, upgrades, and disaster recovery strategies.

Exhibit strong foundational knowledge of DevOps and SRE principles, coupled with experience managing business-critical platforms at an enterprise scale. Experience with SonarQube and Bitbucket is highly desirable as a supplementary skill. Possess strong hands-on experience with JFrog Artifactory in large enterprise settings, with functional knowledge of SonarQube and Bitbucket.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of artifact lifecycle management, repository configurations, and promotion models, as well as Artifactory permissions, access controls, and security best practices. Understand build governance and software supply chain security. Be proficient in integrating Artifactory with CI/CD pipelines and various build tools. Experience operating and integrating Artifactory across on-premises, AWS, and Azure environments is essential.

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, including artifact and container image management, is required. Proficiency in at least one modern programming or scripting language such as Java, Groovy, or Python for platform automation and integration is necessary. Showcase hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and on-premises/hybrid environments, covering access controls, identity management, networking, storage, and relevant automation for Artifactory.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and understanding of containerized or ephemeral execution models for CI/CD workloads is beneficial. Experience supporting highly available and resilient enterprise platforms across hybrid infrastructures is valued. A passion for simplifying complex systems, reducing operational overhead, and enhancing developer experience at enterprise scale is crucial.
