This role combines DevOps and SRE responsibilities, ensuring both accelerated delivery and exceptional operational excellence for mission-critical CI/CD platforms. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of software engineering at Mastercard.

As a technical leader, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of Mastercard’s CI/CD platform capabilities, with a strong emphasis on SonarQube, Artifactory, and Bitbucket. You will drive the design of robust systems, establish best practices, and ensure these services are reliable, scalable, secure, and intuitive for thousands of engineers.

Key responsibilities include leading the design and evolution of enterprise CI/CD features, defining clear workflows and guardrails for developer autonomy and governance, and ensuring consistent adoption of quality gates and secure build practices. You will also manage the operational health of these platforms, focusing on reliability, monitoring, and continuous improvement, while actively participating in incident response and RCA.

Furthermore, you will contribute to product strategy, lead design discussions, and mentor engineers through hands-on leadership and collaborative problem-solving. Your contributions will extend to developing reusable patterns and practices within engineering guilds and platform communities.

We are seeking an experienced engineer with 12+ years in platform, DevOps, or infrastructure systems at enterprise scale. Proven experience in designing, building, and operating CI/CD platforms used across multiple teams is essential.

A deep understanding of CI/CD tools like SonarQube, Artifactory, and Bitbucket, alongside expertise in code quality, artifact lifecycle management, and build governance, is required. Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Java, Groovy, or Python for CI/CD automation is also necessary.

Candidates should possess a strong production ownership mindset, experience with Linux/Unix environments, and a background in improving reliability through monitoring and automation. Familiarity with cloud or hybrid environments (Azure or AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is expected. Excellent communication and mentoring skills are vital for collaborating with diverse teams and supporting junior engineers.
