Join Mastercard as a Lead Platform Architect and shape the future of our technology infrastructure. This role involves designing and overseeing platform solutions throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial concept to deployment and ongoing support. You will play a crucial part in maintaining our technology roadmap for Unix solutions, ensuring they align with business needs and support objectives.
We are seeking an experienced architect to collaborate with diverse teams, including Delivery, Engineering, and Operations. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring new solutions meet stringent non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security, and manageability. You'll also be responsible for identifying, assessing, and communicating technical risks to the business and operations teams, while evaluating and trialing new technologies to drive innovation.
Key responsibilities include producing high-level designs for platform infrastructure, maintaining the technology roadmap for Platform/Unix solutions in alignment with end-of-support dates, and working closely with cross-functional teams. You will ensure new solutions adhere to established policies and standards, meeting defined non-functional requirements. Additionally, you will identify and communicate technical risks, evaluate products for project and future use, and take ownership of trialing new technologies. Flexibility to adapt to new products, services, strategies, and ways of working is essential.
We are looking for candidates with 8-12 years of career experience in a similar role and technology. Essential expertise includes in-depth knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (Oracle Linux/RHEL), Virtualization Technologies (OVM, KVM, OLVM), and VMware (ESX). Significant experience in demanding, high-availability environments is crucial. You must possess proven experience in delivering complex technical designs and architectures, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A solid understanding of how non-functional requirements like performance and availability are met by technology solutions is also required.
