This position involves producing high-level designs for platform infrastructure solutions and maintaining the technology roadmap for Unix-based platforms, ensuring alignment with end-of-support dates. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Delivery, Engineering, and Operations.
Key responsibilities include ensuring new solutions adhere to company policies and standards, meeting non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security, and manageability. You will also identify, assess, and communicate technical risks to both business and operations stakeholders, and evaluate products for current and future use, taking the lead on trialing new technologies.
We are looking for an experienced professional with 8-12 years of relevant career experience. Essential expertise includes in-depth knowledge of Linux Operating Systems (Oracle Linux/RHEL), Virtualisation Technologies (OVM, KVM, OLVM), and VMware (ESX).
Significant experience in demanding, high-availability environments is required, along with a proven track record of delivering complex technical designs and architectures. The ability to articulate complex technical information to diverse audiences, coupled with flexibility for new technologies and strategies, is vital. A strong understanding of how non-functional requirements are met by technology solutions is also expected.
