Join Capgemini's Industrial Operations Engineering team as a Lead Optical Engineer. You will be instrumental in ensuring seamless connectivity and operational excellence within critical network and service platforms. This role offers a collaborative environment to build expertise in Telecom and ISP operations, focusing on proactive network monitoring and incident management.

As a key contributor in a complex environment, you will proactively anticipate client needs and manage costs and profitability for your work area. You'll develop project plans, look beyond immediate problems to understand wider implications, and act as a facilitator and coach to move teams forward.

You will be responsible for monitoring and managing alarms across DWDM, Optical Transport, and Fiber networks. This includes performing fault isolation, troubleshooting, and restoration activities.

Key tasks involve executing maintenance activities, coordinating change implementations, and liaising with field teams and vendors during outages. You will also handle incidents, service requests, customer escalations, and maintain accurate ticket documentation and operational records. Support for 24x7 NOC operations and participation in bridge calls during major incidents are essential.

A minimum of 6 years of experience in optical networking is required. Proficiency in optical networking fundamentals such as DWDM, ROADM, or OTN is essential, with at least one being mandatory.

Experience with NMS/EMS monitoring tools and a strong understanding of incident and change management processes are crucial. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills are necessary to effectively manage network operations and collaborate with stakeholders.
