The Systems and Platform Architecture team seeks an experienced Middleware Architect to lead the design and oversight of Middleware solutions. This role spans the entire development lifecycle, from bid and concept to architecture, design, build, testing, and production deployment. You will be instrumental in shaping our middleware strategy and ensuring its alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
As a Middleware Architect, you will be responsible for creating high-level designs for middleware architecture solutions and maintaining the technology roadmap for related technologies, ensuring alignment with end-of-support dates. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Delivery, Engineering, and Operations, to ensure new solutions adhere to established policies, standards, and meet non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security, and manageability. A key part of this role involves identifying, assessing, and communicating technical risks to both business and operations stakeholders, as well as evaluating products for current and future use and leading trials of new technologies.
This role requires 8-12 years of relevant career experience in middleware technologies. Essential expertise includes IBM Tivoli (Workload Scheduler), MQ, SWIFT (SAA, SAG, SWP), GoAnywhere (MFT, GAG) for file transfer, and Oracle Middleware (ODI for Data Integration, OAS for Application Server). Strong skills in Observability and Java, along with scripting languages like Python, are also crucial. Experience with PKI Signing software (SafeTronic) and integration with HSMs is required. You should possess significant experience in demanding, high-availability environments and a proven track record of delivering complex technical designs and architectures. The ability to articulate complex technical information to diverse audiences and a flexibility to adapt to new products, strategies, and work methods are essential. A clear understanding of how technology solutions deliver non-functional requirements like performance and availability is vital. The ideal candidate will continuously monitor market trends, identify opportunities for improvement, clearly explain technical challenges, communicate visions and roadmaps effectively, and proactively seek solutions.
