As a Lead Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will be instrumental in constructing the next generation of AI solutions. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with clients across diverse BCG regions and industries, addressing critical issues such as climate change. You will play a key part in enabling clients to design, build, and implement innovative solutions.

Further contributions will involve developing and disseminating thought leadership through scientific publications and presenting at conferences on behalf of BCG X. You will also take a proactive role in shaping the strategic direction of BCG X and BCG globally, working alongside partners and managing directors to drive business growth and development. This includes managing teams of AI scientists, engineers, and designers.

Your role will encompass owning the entire analytics value chain, from defining new business challenges and designing advanced algorithms to implementing and deploying scalable AI solutions. You will empower colleagues and clients to fully embrace artificial intelligence.

Key responsibilities include architecting and deploying enterprise-scale AI/GenAI solutions, particularly Agentic AI systems. You will work extensively with Large Language Models (LLMs) on platforms like OpenAI and Anthropic, or utilize open-source models.

Develop robust and maintainable software using strong development practices. Guide non-technical teams and consultants in adopting best practices for software development. Optimize the computational efficiency of algorithms and software design.

Engage in client-facing activities, manage engagements, and cultivate client relationships. Provide "thought leadership" to teams and act as the interface between business and technology for clients.

We seek builder-type developers with a solid foundation in AI/ML, including expertise in GenAI (LLMs, LangChain), and experience in either data engineering or modern full-stack development. An enthusiasm for applying advanced technologies to help organizations become AI-led is essential.

Required qualifications include an Advanced Degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in architecting and deploying AI/GenAI solutions at an enterprise scale is crucial.

Proficiency in Python and full-stack development using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript is necessary, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with managing relational, non-relational, and streaming data structures is expected.

Experience building and deploying production systems on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is advantageous. A strong record of professional accomplishment, leadership, and the ability to drive commercial impact are key. Excellent communication skills are vital for guiding non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
