This role as a Lead Forward Deployed AI Engineer is central to our mission. You will be instrumental in developing and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions, collaborating with clients across diverse industries and regions on critical issues such as climate change. You'll also play a key role in shaping BCG X's strategic direction and contributing to business development efforts.

As a Lead Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you will own the complete analytics value chain, from conceptualizing business challenges to deploying scalable AI solutions and empowering colleagues and clients to adopt AI technologies. Your responsibilities will include building the next generation of AI solutions, partnering with clients on innovative projects, and developing thought leadership through publications and conference presentations.

You will actively contribute to BCG X's strategic vision and growth, collaborating with senior leadership. This includes managing teams of AI scientists, engineers, and designers, and driving impactful commercial outcomes. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, action-oriented, resourceful, and an excellent communicator.

We are seeking builder-type developers with a robust foundation in AI/ML, including Generative AI (LLMs, LangChain), and experience in either data engineering or modern full-stack development. A passion for applying advanced technologies to enable AI-led organizations is essential.

Key qualifications include comfort in client-facing roles, engagement management, and client relationship building. You should be adept at applying software development best practices for robust and maintainable code, guiding non-technical teams, and optimizing computational efficiency. A strong aptitude for problem-solving across various industries and topics, combined with excellent project management skills to bridge the gap between business and technology, is required.
