Join our dynamic team as a Product Software Engineer II, specializing in Observability & Platform. You will develop cutting-edge features for our observability and self-service platforms, essential across Disney Entertainment & ESPN engineering. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow your production skills in Python, AWS, and modern observability practices, working alongside experienced engineers. Your core responsibilities will include developing telemetry pipelines, dashboards, and self-service tooling with a focus on production-quality code and robust test coverage. You will also build and maintain backend APIs in Python to support platform services, and contribute to secure cloud automation and IAM permission workflows. Additionally, you'll assist in maintaining operational data pipelines, instrumenting services, tuning alerts, and participating in the on-call rotation for platform services, all while growing your expertise through mentorship and collaborative learning.

We are seeking candidates with at least 3 years of professional software engineering experience and strong Python development skills. Essential qualifications include foundational experience with AWS and Unix/Linux environments, as well as exposure to monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerization concepts is also required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is necessary, alongside excellent communication skills and a passion for learning platform engineering.
