Our Silicon Co-Design Group is expanding, seeking a dynamic Lab Manager to oversee hardware engineering lab operations across our Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune Design Centers.
This pivotal role places you at the intersection of silicon and reality, where critical bring-up, validation, and rework processes occur. You will manage multiple labs supporting diverse product classes, leading a team of skilled technicians. Your leadership will directly impact lab uptime, readiness for bring-ups, accuracy of capital planning, and adherence to safety and physical IP standards. You'll be the go-to person for establishing new labs rapidly for emerging product classes, addressing EHS or security concerns, and ensuring capacity planning for future roadmaps.

Lead and manage diverse hardware engineering labs, including silicon bring-up, validation, and experimental setups.
Direct and develop rework, reflow, and logistics technicians, empowering them in procurement, planning, and day-to-day operations.
Proactively forecast long-term lab requirements for space, power, cooling, thermal solutions, reflow capabilities, and equipment. Own the associated capital and expense plans, managing growth, reconfiguration, and program ramp-downs.
Collaborate closely with Bring-up managers to define scope, procurement needs, budgets, and staffing for incoming silicon programs, ensuring infrastructure and personnel are ready ahead of key milestones.
Uphold stringent safety and security standards within the labs, driving EHS compliance and security control. Act as a champion for safety and physical IP asset management, establishing guidelines and conducting regular reviews.
Oversee the complete lifecycle of lab equipment, including capital and expense planning, purchasing, warranty management, calibration, and inventory tracking.
Partner with global lab managers to share best practices, drive continuous improvement, and standardize lab operations for maximum efficiency and leverage.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, coupled with over 8 years of comprehensive experience in silicon/hardware lab setup, management, and maintenance.
A minimum of 3 years leading technical lab environments and managing teams across multiple sites, with a proven history of overseeing multi-lab sections, including capital and expense equipment planning, vendor and outsourced worker management, and inventory/logistics.
Hands-on proficiency with essential lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and DAQ systems, alongside practical experience in consumer hardware assembly/teardown, soldering, and rework. Familiarity with hardware bring-ups, computer systems, and debugging methodologies is essential.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams, including Software, Validation, ASIC, and other hardware/software functions, supported by excellent communication skills across different sites.
Experience with CPU/SOC chip bring-up and validation processes is highly valued.
Comfort and proficiency in utilizing AI productivity tools (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to enhance reporting, analysis, and operational workflows, with sound judgment on their application.
