Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs with Java and Spring Boot, covering Web, Data, Security, and Actuator modules. You will be involved in modeling and integrating with both SQL and NoSQL databases, writing efficient queries, and managing schema migrations. Implementing robust API security measures such as OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, role-based access, rate limiting, and input validation is crucial. The role also requires writing clean, testable code with unit, integration, and contract tests, as well as optimizing performance and reliability through caching, connection pooling, and asynchronous operations.

You will contribute to CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments using Docker and basic Kubernetes concepts, with Azure exposure being a must. Active participation in Agile teams, including grooming, estimation, code reviews, and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger, is expected. You will also own services end-to-end, from initial design and development through to deployment and production support, with an optional on-call rotation.

A strong command of Java 8+ (preferably 11/17 or later) and Spring Boot is essential. Proven knowledge and experience in utilizing GitHub Copilot are required. You should have a solid background in building RESTful APIs and integrating with both external and internal services, along with a deep understanding of data structures, concurrency, and error handling. Hands-on experience with RDBMS like PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORMs such as JPA/Hibernate is necessary. Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, and build tools like Maven/Gradle is also a requirement. Familiarity with API documentation standards (OpenAPI/Swagger) and testing tools like Postman/Rest Assured is expected.

For senior or lead positions, experience in API architecture and design, including resource modeling, versioning, idempotency, and resilience patterns, is highly valued. Expertise in security best practices (OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, secrets management) and scalability/resilience patterns (Circuit Breaker, Retry/Backoff with Resilience4j, async/reactive programming) are also key. Experience with microservices, message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ), event-driven patterns, and cloud-native deployments (Docker/K8s) is a significant plus. The ability to mentor developers and lead design/code reviews will be essential for leadership roles. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience is required.
