The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge of international tax, US tax principles, and cross-border advisory matters, including PFIC, CFC, GILTI, ECI, WHT, PE, TP, and income tax accounting.
Strong research, analytical, communication, and execution capabilities are essential. Contribute to the growth of EY's US International Tax practice by delivering high-quality advisory services to US clients in financial services, investment funds, private equity, and asset management.
Key duties include supporting international tax engagements, advising clients on cross-border tax matters, and conducting technical research on US and international tax issues. You will draft tax memoranda, reports, and client presentations, and review fund structures, cross-border transactions, and tax-efficient operational frameworks. Additionally, you will analyze income tax risks, monitor international tax developments, and coordinate with EY network offices and client stakeholders to develop multi-jurisdictional tax solutions. Identifying technical issues, risks, and planning opportunities, then summarizing recommendations, is crucial. Managing assigned workstreams, timelines, and documentation with precision is also required.
Further responsibilities involve supporting internal training and go-to-market initiatives. You will also guide and review the work of junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring compliance with EY's risk management, independence, and quality review requirements. The role offers exposure to diverse international tax projects, including fund structuring, accounting for income taxes, operating model reviews, and group restructuring.
Candidates should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience in international tax, M&A, transaction tax, or cross-border tax advisory within a client-facing capacity. A professional qualification such as CA, CPA, or CFA, or an equivalent, is preferred.
Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Tax, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Prior experience with a leading professional services firm is advantageous. A solid understanding of international taxation, encompassing cross-border structuring, treaty analysis, withholding tax, and permanent establishment matters, is expected. Familiarity with US tax concepts like PFIC, CFC, GILTI, and ECI will be highly valued.
We are looking for individuals with strong analytical, research, communication, organizational, and project execution skills. The ability to manage engagements, coordinate effectively with various stakeholders, and deliver within strict deadlines is paramount. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Advanced Excel is required. Experience supporting international tax projects is beneficial. We seek highly motivated individuals with technical acumen, analytical curiosity, and the capacity to work collaboratively across global teams to deliver excellent client service.
