Join Amazon's Operations IT team as an IT Support Engineer I, playing a crucial role in delivering exceptional speed and accuracy in our global services. This position is essential for providing nonstop IT support to Amazon Operations, driving innovation and problem-solving. You'll be part of a dynamic environment that values ownership, from supporting IT infrastructure to launching new facilities and ensuring customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to implement effective solutions and deliver high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise applications across various sites. You'll have the autonomy to adapt standard practices when necessary to achieve optimal outcomes and can independently resolve straightforward issues that lack predefined standard operating procedures.
Key responsibilities include managing local technical projects, developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and processes, and identifying the root causes of operational challenges and process inefficiencies. You will also provide remote support to global customers and travel locally or regionally to assist them. Further duties involve network engineering, troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration across diverse software and hardware platforms, ensuring continuous availability of infrastructure networking and computing systems during production hours.
Additionally, you will collaborate with management and staff to offer analytical and technical assistance, contributing to the ongoing improvement of IT solutions. This includes maintaining operational efficiency and proactively addressing any system vulnerabilities or performance degradations.
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree and brings at least two years of experience in networking, including proficiency with DNS, DHCP, SSL, the OSI Model, and TCP/IP. A minimum of two years of experience troubleshooting in a multi-user, high-availability environment is also required, alongside two years of experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or an equivalent field, along with demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex multi-user, high-availability environments. This role requires a proactive individual capable of independent problem-solving and contributing to a high-performing IT support team.
