Job description

Operations is central to Amazon's success, characterized by speed, accuracy, and outstanding service. Our buildings distribute a vast number of products globally daily. OTS IT offers continuous global IT support to Amazon Operations, playing a crucial role in the overall ecosystem. We take pride in our responsibilities, from managing IT infrastructure and developing internal technology to launching new facilities and ensuring customer satisfaction through timely package delivery. OTS IT provides comprehensive global IT support across Amazon's Operations, including Fulfillment, Sortation, Logistics, and Last Mile delivery networks.

Responsibilities

As an Ops Tech IT Support Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to assist the operations team in resolving diverse technical issues across various sites. You will serve as the primary point of contact for IT support within Amazon's operational sites, representing the IT department to our customers.

Key responsibilities encompass the upkeep of IT equipment within Fulfillment centers. This includes diagnosing and resolving issues with all IT-related hardware such as PCs, wireless handheld devices, thin clients, printers, and other end-user equipment. You will also manage the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and repair processes for devices under warranty. Supporting Senior Engineers with daily projects and tasks as assigned is also a core part of the role.

While this role operates on a 5-day work week, scheduled days off will vary due to Amazon's 7-day operational schedule and specific shift patterns, aligning with business needs. The position requires supporting multiple facilities within the designated area and demands flexibility to travel to sites across the state or region. Adherence to all safety procedures while performing duties is mandatory.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 1 year of experience providing IT support in a corporate environment, with proficiency in Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems. Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting complex and interdependent computer systems is essential.

Furthermore, practical experience in maintaining equipment such as Zebra thermal printers, troubleshooting thin clients, PCs, scanners, and portable handheld terminals is required. Preferred qualifications include industry-relevant certifications like CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), or Microsoft hardware installation knowledge, as well as experience with AWS. Prior experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong emphasis on customer service is highly advantageous.
