This role is within the Guidewire Policy Center Support team, focusing on technical engineering within the insurance sector.

As a Guidewire Claims Center Support and Maintenance specialist with 8-11 years of experience, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of applications.

Key duties include maintaining and supporting applications, implementing enhancements, conducting thorough testing, and managing deployments. You will also perform root cause analysis for defects and implement necessary fixes. A critical aspect of this role involves managing Guidewire integrations effectively.

Flexibility for rotational shifts, including night shifts and on-call support on a rostered basis, is essential. This ensures continuous coverage and rapid response to critical issues.

To excel in this role, a strong technical foundation in Guidewire platforms is necessary, ideally with version 9 technical/functional certification. Proficiency in both integration and configuration aspects of Guidewire is required.

Essential technical skills include a deep understanding of Gosu scripting and the Guidewire data model. You must be adept at integrating with external systems using supported techniques, and possess experience with message queues, work queues, and event-driven architecture. Expertise in RESTful and SOAP web services is crucial.

Familiarity with middleware platforms such as MuleSoft is beneficial, as is knowledge of cloud integration services. You should be skilled in monitoring and troubleshooting integration issues to minimize downtime. Hands-on experience with Java/J2EE web services and API integration is a must.

Production support activities, including queue management, plug-in related issues, and batch file generation, are key. Experience with tools like Service-now, JIRA, SOAP UI, Eclipse IDE, SVN, and Jenkins is expected. A solid grasp of service management, change management, SLAs, and estimator tools is also important.

This position requires exposure to working in shifts and on-call support. You should have prior experience with incident and problem management, alongside an understanding of the SDLC, release planning, and management.

Core technical skills encompass Core Java, J2EE, XML, Web Services (SOAP/REST), ANT, strong SQL, Spring, Hibernate, and experience with Tomcat and/or WebSphere/WebLogic.
