This role operates within Optum Technology's Enterprise Information Security, focusing on AI Security Governance. You'll be instrumental in the daily execution of security governance and operational controls for artificial intelligence technologies. Our team champions safe, compliant, and innovative AI adoption across the enterprise through robust operational discipline, proactive monitoring, and rigorous security workflows.
Execute operational processes to monitor AI solution compliance and validate control evidence. Support policy enforcement and escalate risks, exceptions, incidents, and control gaps according to AI Security Governance standards. Monitor AI solution registration, ownership, lifecycle status, and approved use for compliance. Track required AI security reviews and risk treatments before production deployment. Conduct recurring compliance checks for approved AI platforms, models, APIs, and third-party services. Review monitoring outputs for unauthorized use, security risks, and control failures. Triage AI security alerts, policy violations, and control exceptions, escalating as needed. Assist in incident response by performing root cause analysis for control gaps. Maintain compliance monitoring workpapers, evidence, issue logs, and operational metrics for reporting and audits. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve compliance gaps and confirm evidence. Document operational activities, findings, and evidence thoroughly. Provide frontline user and operational support for AI security governance inquiries.
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required. A minimum of 3 years in security operations, governance operations, risk management, or related technical fields. Over 2 years of experience documenting operational activities, incident findings, or evidence for audit/compliance reporting. At least 1 year of experience with AI governance, security monitoring, access controls, data protection, incident response, and change management processes. More than 1 year of experience reviewing control evidence, operational logs, alerts, and exception documentation.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Knowledge or experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) governance frameworks, risk management, or security controls. Strong documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow defined procedures. Capability to coordinate across technical, governance, risk, and application teams for timely remediation.
