Join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for the global cloud infrastructure that powers innovation for countless businesses. We're seeking a meticulous and skilled Rack Lifecycle Tech to join our Rack Lifecycle Team. In this vital role, you'll be on the ground, physically installing, cabling, and decommissioning racks to bring capacity plans to life. Your precise execution of these tasks is fundamental to AWS's ability to deliver reliable, safe, and cost-effective infrastructure to our customers.

This position is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused on the physical transformation of data center capacity. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of experts, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security while contributing to the lowest possible cost for our clients. Execute meticulous rack installations, including physical placement, power connections, grounding, and advanced cable management adhering strictly to AWS standards and MOPs. Perform comprehensive structured cabling, encompassing fiber/copper terminations, patch panel connections, precise labeling, and dressing to specification.

Conduct OTDR and power testing, validating results against acceptance thresholds and promptly escalating any failures. Manage work orders and tasks, maintaining accurate status updates in workflow management tools like Boost and MARS. Perform rigorous quality checks on completed cabling work, including port map verification, label accuracy, and updating CMDB/DCIM for as-built documentation.

Safely receive, verify, and stage incoming rack, cable, and hardware deliveries, validating against BOM and flagging discrepancies. Maintain precise site inventory records for all deployed materials. Execute physical rack decommissioning per assigned MOPs, including cable removal, power disconnects, asset de-tagging, and rack extraction.

Complete all required as-built documentation, port maps, test result records, and workflow sign-offs prior to handover. Update DCIM/CMDB and IPAM records accurately following installation or decommission activities. Ensure all handoffs are clean and fully documented with zero open blockers.

Demonstrated ability in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair for at least 2 years, alongside 1+ year of experience in computer networking. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Familiarity with rack decommissioning procedures, including device wipe and media destruction, is preferred. Experience in effectively managing customer interactions during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure is also advantageous.

Adherence to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks for all activities is paramount. Completion of all required safety training and certifications, including EHS and LOTO procedures, is mandatory for this role.
