Join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, the backbone of cloud operations. As a Rack Lifecycle Tech, you will be instrumental in transforming capacity plans into operational reality by managing the physical installation, cabling, and decommissioning of racks within our data centers. Execute precise rack installations, including physical placement, power, grounding, and cable management according to AWS standards. Perform structured cabling, fiber/copper terminations, patch panel connections, and labeling to specification. Conduct OTDR and power testing, escalating any failures promptly. Manage rack lifecycle operations, fulfilling work orders and maintaining accurate status updates in workflow tools. Perform quality checks on cabling, verify port maps, and update documentation in CMDB/DCIM. Identify and escalate issues or deviations from SOPs. Support deployment readiness through site walks, material staging, and tool preparation. Handle material receiving, verification, and staging, maintaining accurate inventory records. Complete all required as-built documentation, port maps, and test records before handoff. Execute physical rack decommissioning, including cable removal, power disconnects, and asset de-tagging. Perform device wipe and media destruction in compliance with security policies. Sort, label, and stage recovered assets for reverse logistics. Adhere to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks. Complete mandatory safety training and certifications. Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements. Accurately use Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for work recording and asset tracking. Coordinate with cross-functional teams like DCO, DCEO, and Network Engineering during deployment or decom activities.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. A minimum of 1 year of experience in computer networking. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Familiarity with rack decommissioning, including device wipe, media destruction, and asset recovery procedures, is preferred. Experience managing customer interactions effectively during problem resolution and performing efficiently under pressure is advantageous.
