Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Rack Lifecycle Tech, playing a crucial role in maintaining the global cloud infrastructure. This hands-on position is integral to ensuring the seamless operation of data centers by managing the physical installation, cabling, and decommissioning of server racks. Execute precise rack installations, including physical placement, power, grounding, and meticulous cable management according to AWS standards and MOPs. Perform comprehensive structured cabling, fiber/copper terminations, and panel connections, ensuring adherence to specifications. Conduct OTDR and power testing, validating results against acceptance thresholds, and promptly escalating any deviations. Follow all EHS protocols, LOTO procedures, and safe work practices. Manage work orders and tasks in workflow tools, maintaining accurate status updates. Perform quality checks on completed cabling, verify port maps, and update as-built documentation. Identify and escalate issues or blockers encountered during task execution. Support deployment wave readiness through site walks, material staging, and tool preparation. Receive, verify, and stage incoming hardware deliveries, maintaining accurate site inventory records. Complete all required as-built documentation, port maps, and workflow sign-offs for seamless handoffs. Execute physical decommissioning activities, including cable removal, power disconnects, asset de-tagging, and rack extraction, while adhering to secure media destruction and EHS policies. Sort, label, and stage recovered assets for disposal or redeployment. Update DCIM/CMDB, IPAM, and port maps post-decommissioning to ensure accurate record-keeping. Adhere to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks. Participate in EHS audits and team safety briefings. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying quality issues and suggesting process enhancements. Accurately use Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for work recording, asset tracking, and data integrity. Coordinate with DCO, DCEO, Network Engineering, and facilities teams during deployment or decom activities. Participate in daily stand-ups and pre-work briefings, communicating task status, blockers, and schedule adherence. Maintain and develop technical proficiency in structured cabling, fiber optics, and data center physical infrastructure. Complete required certifications and training modules, and proactively seek feedback for performance improvement. Support the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Bring at least 2 years of experience in Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management. Demonstrate 2+ years of experience with network cabling, fiber optics, and essential test equipment such as VFL, power meter, and OTDR. Have 2+ years of hands-on experience with fiber handling and installation processes. Ability to lift and rack equipment weighing up to 40 pounds is essential. Preferred qualifications include the ability to work effectively in cramped or elevated spaces while adhering to health and safety guidelines, experience in customer interaction during problem resolution, operating efficiently under pressure, managing work and priorities through ticketing systems, expertise in cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies, prior data center environment experience (racking/stacking, cable management, aisle containment), and familiarity with rack decommissioning procedures including device wipe, media destruction, and asset recovery.
