This role is perfect for a detail-oriented and technically adept Rack Lifecycle Tech who thrives on hands-on execution. You will be instrumental in bringing capacity plans to life on the data center floor, managing the physical installation, cabling, handover, and decommissioning of racks. Precision and adherence to standard operating procedures are key as you ensure every rack meets stringent AWS standards, is fully documented, and handed off without issues.

- Execute precise rack installations, including physical placement, power, grounding, and cable management. - Perform structured cabling, fiber/copper terminations, and patch panel connections according to specifications. - Conduct OTDR and power testing, escalating any deviations from acceptance thresholds. - Adhere strictly to EHS protocols, LOTO procedures, and safe work practices. - Manage work orders, update workflow management tools, and perform quality checks on completed cabling. - Identify and promptly escalate issues or deviations from SOPs. - Support deployment readiness through site walks and material staging. - Receive, verify, and stage incoming hardware deliveries, validating against BOM. - Maintain accurate site inventory records and support cycle count activities. - Complete all required documentation, including as-built records and CMDB/DCIM updates. - Execute rack decommissioning activities, including cable removal and asset de-tagging. - Perform secure media destruction and sort/stage recovered assets for reverse logistics. - Ensure reclaimed space, power, and cooling capacity are accurately recorded. - Uphold site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks. - Complete mandatory safety training and certifications. - Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements. - Accurately utilize Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for work recording and asset tracking. - Coordinate with various teams like DCO, DCEO, and Network Engineering for smooth execution. - Participate in daily stand-ups and pre-work briefings, communicating task status and blockers clearly. - Maintain and develop technical proficiency in data center physical infrastructure and cabling standards. - Complete required certifications and training modules, including EHS and LOTO.

To excel in this role, you should possess at least 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, coupled with over 1 year of computer networking experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Preferred qualifications include experience in effectively managing customer interactions during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Familiarity with rack decommissioning processes, including device wipe, media destruction, and asset recovery procedures, would be advantageous.
