Join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, the backbone of the cloud, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of global AWS data centers. - Execute physical installations, cabling, handoffs, and decommissioning of racks within data centers. - Perform structured cabling, including fiber/copper terminations, patch panel connections, and labeling, adhering to AWS standards. - Conduct OTDR and power testing, validating results and escalating any failures. - Manage work orders and update workflow management tools with accurate status. - Perform quality checks on completed cabling work and update documentation in CMDB/DCIM. - Identify and escalate issues, blockers, or deviations from standard operating procedures. - Stage and verify incoming rack, cable, and hardware deliveries, maintaining inventory records. - Complete all required as-built documentation, port maps, and test result records before handoff. - Execute physical decommission activities, including asset de-tagging and rack extraction. - Adhere to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks. - Participate in EHS audits and safety briefings, completing required training. - Coordinate with DCO, DCEO, Network Engineering, and facilities teams during deployment or decom activities.
- Minimum of 2 years in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. - At least 1 year of experience in computer networking. - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Familiarity with rack decommissioning, including device wipe and media destruction procedures is preferred. - Proven ability to deal effectively with customers during problem resolution and operate efficiently under pressure. - Strong attention to detail and technical skills for hands-on execution of physical installations and decommissioning tasks.
