Join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, the backbone of cloud innovation, responsible for designing, planning, and operating global data centers. You will be a critical part of a diverse team ensuring continuous access to the services our customers rely on. This position is for a detail-oriented and technically adept Rack Lifecycle Tech within AWS Infrastructure Operations. As an individual contributor, you will be instrumental in the physical installation, cabling, handoff, and decommissioning of racks at your assigned data center. You transform capacity plans into tangible operational reality on the ground.

Execute precise rack installations, power connections, grounding, and cable management according to AWS standards and MOPs. Perform structured cabling, including fiber/copper terminations and patch panel connections, ensuring adherence to specifications. Conduct OTDR and power testing, validating results and escalating any deviations promptly. Adhere strictly to all EHS protocols, LOTO procedures, and safe work practices during all installation activities.

Manage work orders and tasks efficiently, maintaining accurate status updates in workflow tools. Conduct quality checks on completed cabling, verifying port maps and updating documentation. Identify and escalate issues or blockers immediately to the team lead or manager. Support deployment wave readiness through site walks, material staging, and tool preparation. Receive, verify, and stage incoming deliveries, maintaining accurate site inventory records and supporting cycle counts.

Execute rack decommissioning activities per MOPs, including cable removal, power disconnects, and asset de-tagging. Perform device wipe and media destruction in compliance with AWS policies. Sort, label, and stage recovered assets for RMA, redeployment, or disposal. Update DCIM/CMDB and IPAM records post-decommissioning to ensure accurate capacity records.

Adhere to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks for all activities. Complete required safety training and certifications. Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying quality issues and suggesting process enhancements. Accurately use Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for work recording and asset tracking. Support coordination with DCO, DCEO, Network Engineering, and facilities teams. Participate in daily stand-ups and pre-work briefings, communicating task status, blockers, and schedule adherence clearly.

Develop and maintain technical proficiency in structured cabling, fiber optics, and data center physical infrastructure. Complete required certifications and training modules. Seek feedback to improve performance and output quality. Support onboarding and training of new team members. Stay current on AWS infrastructure tooling, cabling standards, and process updates.
