Execute precise physical installations, cabling, handoffs, and decommissioning of server racks across assigned data center sites. This involves performing structured cabling, rack installations adhering to established SOPs, and managing decommissioning activities. You will also be responsible for preparing SOPs for new processes and stakeholder management with cross-functional teams.
Key duties include executing rack installations and cabling per AWS standards, performing structured cabling, completing and validating OTDR and power testing, and adhering to all EHS and LOTO procedures. You will manage work orders, perform quality checks, identify and escalate issues, support deployment readiness, handle and stage materials, and maintain accurate inventory records.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required, alongside a minimum of 4 years of experience in data center operations, structured cabling, or physical infrastructure installation. Familiarity with data center rack installation, including physical placement, power connections, and grounding, is essential.
Preferred qualifications include experience with customer interaction during problem resolution, operating under pressure, and a strong understanding of cabling infrastructure best practices. Experience in a hyperscale or high-volume data center environment, including racking/stacking gear, cable management, and hot/cold aisle containment, is highly advantageous.
