Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Rack Lifecycle Tech, a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our global cloud infrastructure. You'll be instrumental in transforming capacity plans into tangible reality by managing the physical installation, cabling, and decommissioning of server racks within our data centers. Execute precise rack installations, including placement, power, and grounding, adhering strictly to AWS standards and MOPs. Perform comprehensive structured cabling, fiber/copper terminations, and ensure meticulous cable management and labeling. Conduct OTDR and power testing, escalating any discrepancies promptly. Execute work orders accurately, maintaining real-time status updates in workflow tools like Boost and MARS. Perform quality checks on cabling, verify documentation, and update CMDB/DCIM records. Support deployment readiness through site walks and material staging. Manage incoming hardware deliveries, verify against BOMs, and maintain accurate site inventory. Complete all required as-built documentation before handoffs. Execute physical rack decommissioning, including asset de-tagging and staging for reverse logistics.

Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and governance frameworks. Complete required safety training and certifications. Actively contribute to continuous improvement by identifying issues and suggesting process enhancements. Utilize Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for accurate work recording and data integrity. Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams like DCO and Network Engineering during deployment and decom activities. Participate in daily briefings and communicate task status, blockers, and schedule adherence clearly. Maintain and develop technical proficiency in data center physical infrastructure and structured cabling.

A High school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair, alongside a minimum of 1 year of experience in computer networking.

Preferred qualifications include experience handling customer interactions during problem resolution and operating effectively under pressure. Familiarity with rack decommissioning processes, including device wipe, media destruction, and asset recovery procedures, is also beneficial.
