Join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, the backbone of global cloud operations. We are seeking a meticulous and technically adept Rack Lifecycle Tech to ensure the seamless installation, cabling, and decommissioning of racks within our data centers. This role is pivotal in translating capacity plans into operational reality on the ground.

Execute precise rack installations, structured cabling, and decommissioning activities according to AWS standards and established SOPs. This includes physical placement, power connections, grounding, cable management, fiber/copper terminations, and testing.

Perform quality checks on cabling, update documentation in CMDB/DCIM, and identify/escalate any issues or deviations promptly. You will also support deployment wave readiness through site walks and material staging.

Manage material handling, including receiving and staging deliveries, maintaining inventory records, and supporting cycle counts. Ensure all as-built documentation, port maps, and test records are completed accurately for seamless handoffs.

Execute rack decommissioning tasks, including cable removal, power disconnects, asset de-tagging, and media destruction, while adhering to strict security and EHS policies. Accurately record reclaimed capacity in the available pool.

A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required.

Possess at least 2 years of experience in Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, Data Center Operations, or Technical Project Management. Experience with network cabling, fiber optics, and relevant test equipment like VFL, power meters, and OTDR is essential.

Demonstrated experience with fiber handling and installation processes is necessary. Candidates must be capable of lifting and racking equipment up to 40 pounds.

Preferred qualifications include the ability to work in confined or elevated spaces, manage priorities effectively, and experience in a data center environment. Familiarity with decommissioning procedures, including device wipe and media destruction, is also beneficial.
