Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Rack Lifecycle Tech and be instrumental in the global cloud's operational backbone. This role focuses on the physical aspects of data center infrastructure, ensuring the seamless installation, cabling, and decommissioning of racks.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor position where your precision and adherence to procedures directly contribute to AWS's ability to reliably deliver infrastructure capacity. Your work is foundational to the continuous innovation and service provided to millions of customers worldwide.
Execute precise rack installations, including physical placement and all necessary connections, adhering strictly to AWS standards and procedures.
Perform detailed structured cabling, encompassing fiber and copper terminations, panel connections, and meticulous labeling and dressing.
Conduct and validate OTDR and power testing, promptly escalating any deviations from acceptance thresholds.
Manage work orders efficiently, maintaining accurate status updates in workflow management tools and performing thorough quality checks on completed cabling.
Handle material receiving, verification, and staging, maintaining precise site inventory records and supporting cycle counts.
Complete all required as-built documentation for rack installations and decommissionings, ensuring accurate updates to CMDB/DCIM and IPAM records.
Execute rack decommissioning activities according to assigned MOPs, including asset de-tagging and staging recovered components for reverse logistics.
Adhere to all site-specific SOPs, quality standards, and governance frameworks, and complete all mandatory safety training and certifications.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role.
Possess at least 2 years of experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in computer networking.
Familiarity with rack decommissioning processes, including device wiping and media destruction, is preferred.
Experience effectively handling customer interactions during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure is also a plus.
