Join the AWS Infrastructure Services team, the backbone of the cloud, responsible for the design, planning, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are seeking a meticulous and skilled Rack Lifecycle Tech to join our dedicated Rack Lifecycle Team. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless physical installation, cabling, and decommissioning of racks within our data centers, transforming capacity plans into operational reality. - Execute precise rack installations, including power and grounding, adhering strictly to AWS standards and MOPs. - Perform structured cabling, fiber/copper terminations, and comprehensive cable management. - Conduct and validate OTDR and power testing, escalating any deviations to your team lead. - Manage assigned work orders and tasks, maintaining accurate status updates in workflow management tools. - Conduct quality checks on completed cabling, updating documentation in CMDB/DCIM. - Support deployment readiness through site walks, material staging, and tool preparation. - Receive, verify, and stage incoming hardware deliveries, flagging discrepancies against BOM. - Maintain accurate site inventory records and support cycle count activities. - Complete all required as-built documentation and workflow sign-offs for seamless handoffs. - Execute physical rack decommissioning activities, including asset de-tagging and extraction. - Perform device wipe and media destruction in compliance with AWS policies. - Sort, label, and stage recovered assets for various disposition processes. - Adhere to all site-level SOPs, quality standards, and safety protocols. - Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying quality issues and suggesting process enhancements. - Accurately utilize Rack Lifecycle Team tooling for work recording and data integrity.

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. - Possess a minimum of 2 years in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. - A minimum of 1 year of experience in computer networking is essential. - Demonstrated ability to perform physical installation, cabling, and decommissioning of racks with precision. - Familiarity with data center operational procedures, safety protocols (EHS, LOTO), and documentation standards (CMDB, DCIM, IPAM). - Experience with material handling, inventory management, and asset recovery is beneficial. - Preferred experience includes effective customer interaction during problem resolution and efficiently operating under pressure, alongside familiarity with rack decommissioning procedures such as device wipe and media destruction.
